Trout’s Monster Night

Mike Trout has a monster night Saturday against the Houston Astros, hitting two home runs and a double. Trout scored 3 of the Angels 5 runs. The Astros eventually decided that they would rather face Albert Pujols and intentionally walked Trout on his 4th at-bat.

As the season wraps up it’s final month Trout finds himself in some rare company. By scoring 100 runs for the third straight year he joins Mel Ott, Buddy Lewis, Ted Williams, Vada Pinson and Alex Rodriquez as the only 6 players to have scored 100 runs 3 times by the age of 23. He has the potential to be the only player in MLB history to lead the league in runs in his first 3 full years.
