Congrats to Mike Trout for making the All Star Team for the third year in a row. This is his second year as a starter. The news was a little bitter sweet for Trout as his roommate Garret Richards was not initially selected for the team. Richards was thought to be a shoe in but was not selected by Boston manager John Farrell for the team. Instead Richards is in a final position voting competition with five other players who were also left off the team.
Mike Trout immediately took to social media to encourage fans to vote for Richards. He even offered an autographed bat to fans who voted for Richards.
Very honored to be picked to represent the American League in the All-Star Game.Thank you team and fans for your support. #Angels#VoteGRich
