Mike Trout got the fireworks started for Angels fans everywhere with a walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Houston Astros. The Fourth of July blast was Trout’s second walk off home run of his career.
The Astors pitcher Tony Sipp had Trout in the precarious spot of 2 strikes and no balls but made the fatal mistake of throwing him a low fastball, which is exactly where Mike likes it. Trout’s compact swing exploded like there was nothing to lose. The scouting on this has been very clear, so it’s surprising to see a pitcher throw him anything other than a pitch high in the zone.
After the trot around the bases, Hector Santiago made sure to get Mike’s gatorade shower started.
