Mike Trout finds all of his power in the lower part of the strike zone. This great article by Blake Thomsen goes really into depth breaking down Trout’s swing. He explains not only why Trout is prone to hit so well in the lower part of the zone but also why this explains why Trout is doing so well against MLB pitchers. It will be interesting to see if pitchers are able to overcome their training to adjust to Trout’s strengths.
